Introduction
Davis Training Institute is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students, faculty, and staff. All students are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with this Code of Conduct.
Core Values and Expectations
Respect: Students must treat all members of the DTI community with dignity and respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other characteristic.
Integrity: Students are expected to be honest in all academic and administrative matters.
Responsibility: Students must take responsibility for their actions and their impact on the learning community.
Professionalism: Students should conduct themselves in a manner befitting future professionals in their chosen field.
Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
- Physical or verbal abuse, threats, intimidation, or harassment
- Discrimination based on protected characteristics
- Sexual harassment or misconduct
- Possession or use of weapons on campus
- Possession, use, or distribution of illegal drugs or alcohol on campus
- Theft or vandalism of Institute property
- Disruptive behavior in classrooms or learning spaces
- Academic dishonesty (cheating, plagiarism, falsification)
- Violation of computer and technology use policies
- Unauthorized access to Institute facilities or records
Consequences of Violations
Violations of the Student Code of Conduct may result in:
- Verbal or written warning
- Academic probation
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent dismissal from the Institute
- Referral to law enforcement when applicable
The specific consequence will depend on the severity and frequency of the violation.
Reporting Violations
Students who witness or experience Code of Conduct violations should report them to:
- Their instructor or program coordinator
- The Student Services Office
- The Dean of Students
All reports will be investigated promptly and confidentially to the extent possible.
Due Process
Students accused of Code of Conduct violations are entitled to:
- Written notification of the alleged violation
- An opportunity to respond to the allegations
- A fair and impartial hearing process
- The right to appeal disciplinary decisions
